Texas Children's Hospital receives The ECRI Health Devices Achievement Award

Texas Children's Hospital received the second annual Health Devices Achievement Award for excellence in health technology management from ECRI Institute. SETCES board member Dr. Yadin David was an instumental member of the multi-diciplineary team from TCH which included staff from biomedical engineering, nursing, and information technology. We are deeply saddened to announce that SETCES member Jan Shafron, 57, passed away on June 14th, 2006. Jan had been a member of the Ben Taub General Hospital Biomedical Engineering team for nearly 30 years and was a vital member of our organization. His passion towards our field and our organization was contagious. Though we are saddened by Jan's early departure, we rejoice in our memories and treasure the time we had with him.

The biggest SETCES news is that our new website is now online!
It is now possible to pay for your membership online with PayPal on our Online Application page. (Membership renewals were due on January 1st, 2006.) If you don't have a PayPal account, it's fast and simple to register at www.paypal.com.
You may easily determine when our next meeting is scheduled by checking the Meetings page on the website. The information is also listed on the front page.
Also, be sure to review and bookmark our new Links page. Lots of useful information!
